STATE'S ATTORNEY'S DEPARTMENT
FULL TIME LEGAL ASSISTANT

Summary of Duties: The State's Attorney Legal Assistant will assist the attorneys and paralegals by providing clerical work and support services. Some duties are drafting legal documents, written and verbal communications, doing research, and interacting with internal and external stakeholders. All duties must be performed ethically and with confidentiality.

Salary: $21.58 to $25.39 DOQ Hours/Week:       40 hours Mon-Fri

Education Required: GED/High School Equivalent

 Abilities/Skills: A successful applicant for this legal assistant position will be a team player who will be able to assist with criminal and civil law cases, work with law enforcement entities, and be willing to locate, collect, and organize documents and evidence related to criminal, juvenile, and civil cases. Some travel is required.

• Appointments are for a Four (4) Year Term
• Term of office will be 07/01/2026 – 12/31/2029
• Must be a Butte County resident

The Butte County Weed and Pest Board is a five-member advisory Board – including four members appointed by the Butte County Board of Commissioners and one County Commissioner representative.
The Butte County Weed and Pest Board meets quarterly.
